COSTOCK CHURCH. St. Giles. (map ref 1)
Take the road South of Nottingham towards BUNNY (A6O). After passing through Bunny take the second right. There is a sign for East Leake and the village you enter is Costock.Take the first right (Chapel Lane) then the next left from where the church will be seen. There are many graves to be seen in the front of the church on the right as you enter the gate.
NORMANTON-on-SOAR (map ref 3)
From Nottingham.Take the A6 Derby/Loughborough road South through Kegworth then turn Left on to the A6OO6 Melton Mowbray road, then first right into Normanton-on-Soar. There are several graves.
STANFORD-on-SOAR. (map ref 4)
Continue straight on through Normanton.Take the right fork at the 'Y' junction, the village is seen as you turn the bend, the church is on the right. Do not forget to look at the back of the churchyard.
THE GRAVEYARD of St.PETER-in-the-Rushes.(Old Rempstone church).(map ref 7)
It can be located roughly in a line from East Leake to the present Rempstone Church. A very indistinct footpath follows this line.Take the A6O (Rempstone/Loughborough road) as in (1) above, this time passing the road to East Leake and Costock, then take the next right and on the corner is Rempstone Church. This is the A6OO6 (This road runs between the A6 and the A6O). Continue on this road and on the right in the centre of a long hedge there is a sign "BRIDLE PATH". (at just over one mile). This is a footpath across a field to a patch of scrub land North of the gate. There are a few stones visible (No Woodroffes), it is all thats leftof the churchyard .
EAST LEAKE CHURCH. St. Mary's. (map ref 2)
As above, but carry on through Costock and the next village is East Leake. Go through the main street until the road inclines to the left. The church can be seen on the right.Graves can be seen on the left of the church opposite thechurch entrance and also others on the right side.
NOTTINGHAM ROCK CEMETERY. (map ref 6)
Take the Mansfield Road North from Nottingham (Victoria Centre). At the top of the first hill turn left on to Forest Road. The iron railings on your right contain the Rock Cemetery. The entrance gate is at the corner of Mansfield Road and Forest Road and opposite St.Andrew's Church. The first grave on the right side is a Woodroffe one.
